Pre-registration is now open for the Rafael Altamira summer course "The European Union and the major crises: the migration crisis, climate change, Brexit and the economic and health crisis".

This course is dedicated to the analysis of the most important challenges facing the European Union today. In particular, Brexit, the prolonged financial and economic crisis, the migration crisis, the fight against climate change and now, in addition, the health crisis caused by COVID-19. This course will give students an insight into the response that the European Union is offering to each of these challenges in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Date: from 12 to 15 July 2021
Time: from 9 to 14h.
Place: DUAL mode.

The Interuniversity Centre for European Studies (CIEE) has organized the 10th Course on Security and Defence for October 7 and 14, which deals with issues on the participation of the Spanish Armed Forces in international missions.

On September 22, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. the roundtable debate "The European Union and Human Rights" will take place.This is  an activity that could not be carried out on March 26, 2020 due to the state of alarm caused by the health crisis of COVID-19. This roundtable is part of the Roundtable Cycle “Studies on the European Union in secondary education. Specific thematic areas”, which has the support of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Activities-EAC / A03 / 2018 Program (610499-EPP-1-2019-1-ES-EPPJMO-PROJECT).

The roundtable will include the participation as speakers of Valentín Bou Franch, prof. of Public International Law of the University of Valencia and Ana Salinas de Frías, Prof. of Public International Law of the University of Malaga.

Prof. Jaume Ferrer Lloret will act as moderator.

The activity will take place in classroom 1-49M of Lecture 1 of the Faculty of Law of the University of Alicante.

Elections for a new Department Council

 

The Departmental Council of Public International Law and Criminal Law in its last  meeting (March 5th) agreed to call elections to the elective part of the Council to fill vacancies, and approved the following  election calendar The electoral census can be consulted in the bulletin board of the Department (2nd floor, Criminal Law area, Faculty of Law).

 

ELECTORAL BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT

In accordance with the third additional provision of RD 463/2020, of March 14, which declares the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the terms and deadlines for the procedures of public sector entities are interrupted, which affects, from the entry into force of the above-mentioned regulation, the actions pending on the electoral calendar. Once the declaration of the state of alarm has been lifted, the electoral process will be resumed from the candidacy presentation procedure.
